One Vision

I decided this year not to do a vision board. I was having a hard time figuring out goals this year and what I wanted the year to look like. I decided just to make this the year of one vision, and that vision is me.

For the past few years, I made a vision board, wrote out my goals, and lists, and almost every year I don’t accomplish them. I would get sidetracked, or something else comes up, or I just plain forget what they were. I would even come up with a word of the year. This year, I got brain freeze and could not think of anything for myself. Last year didn’t turn out the way I wanted to because I think I had some goals that should have been accomplished, but for whatever reason, they didn’t happen. I tried to be one of those people who writes all my goals down and tick them off the list, but over the past few years, I realized that unless I have something going I won't have anything to accomplish.

One of my goals this year was to get my passport. Now all I had to do was renew my ID, get the passport picture, then fill out the paperwork and set the appointment. Well first setback was the date I was going to get the Real ID I was told that I had to wait 6 months before my ID was to expire, so I had to wait till May, and the day I ended up doing that was the day of the tornado that destroyed parts of the city. I was on the way home from taking the passport picture when I had to shelter in place under an overpass, and of course, the pictures turned out horrible (which was a small thing compared to what I went through). Will I try again this year to get it….Yes, but I will not force it because I do have other things I need to take care of. I do not know if I’m going to be going out of the country anytime soon I will try to go for it sometime this year.

Another goal this past year was to grow my social media. That was kind of done, but not really. I started posting more and grew my pages, then someone hacked my TikTok, and I had to start over. Now I post almost daily, and I joined LTK (Like To Know-It) and hope to get more visibility with that partnership. I have grown on my Instagram, and even YouTube has shown some growth, which is nice to see.

I think I just want to walk into 2026 in a calm space and let things go. I do have a small to-do list that I would like to get through this year, but we shall see how this year goes.
